Self-catering holiday cottage in beautiful Mid Wales.
The cottage’s location in Berriew, Powys, means it can offer guests stunning scenery of the Welsh countryside combined with the convenience of a busy village setting. Berriew is one of Mid Wales’ most picturesque villages, with the River Rhiew running through its centre, and black and white Tudor-style buildings adding to its rural charm. The village boasts a shop, deli/tearoom, butchers, gift shop and two pubs, the Andrew Logan Museum of Sculpture as well as tennis courts, bowling club and a children’s playground.
As the name suggests, The Old Corner Shop is a converted shop centrally placed in the village. Heather Lawton, who runs the cottage, loves Berriew, having lived there all her life, and has a wealth of local knowledge about the village and its surrounding areas. She is able to offer guests advice and information on things to do, scenic walks, local attractions and places to eat, and her welcoming, friendly approach means she always endeavours to ensure her guests have a relaxing, enjoyable stay.
The cottage has two bedrooms and comfortably sleeps four, making it an ideal accommodation choice for families or friends looking for a self-catering holiday. It can be booked for a short break (minimum 3 nights) or for longer periods with flexible changeover days.
The Old Corner Shop is within easy distance of Mid Wales towns including Welshpool, Newtown and Montgomery, as well as North and West Wales, including Llangollen, Bala and Snowdon. The cottage is approximately an hour from the West Wales coast, meaning guests can enjoy a day at the seaside as part of their self-catering holiday.
